Our approach starts with listening
We take the time to understand what you want so we can design a space that feels right for you and enhances your everyday life.
This isn't about following trends or imposing ideas. It's about creating something meaningful, functional, and lasting - together.

Planting with purpose
We see planting as a blend of science and design — combining knowledge of botany and horticulture with a clear understanding of place.
It’s about knowing where each plant feels at home, how it interacts with others, and whether it will thrive in your soil and climate.
There’s a lot of nuance to it, and we enjoy helping clients navigate these complexities to create landscapes that are both resilient and beautiful.
Joe and his team have been creative but also highly service orientated, and helped drive my project through on an ambitious timeline. They have carried the burden of the unglamorous detail with great precision and follow through while also providing me vision, shape and reality to various ideas. They have been a pleasure to work with and have created a really spectacular foundation for my garden to build on.

The process

Stage 1: Clarify
Step 1 - Consultation
Over a video call - or traditional call if you prefer - we talk through your needs, expectations, timescales, ballpark budget and our fees. We find this helpful for us all to know where we stand as early as possible.
Step 2 - Site Visit
We walk through your garden / site with you to get a full picture of your space, your ideas, and to identify any potential constraints or planning requirements. We'll then be able to send you a written brief and proposal, complete with fees and process detail.

The process

Stage 2: Create
Step 1 - Survey
If you decide to go ahead, it's all systems go!
First, you’ll probably need a professional surveyor to complete a topographic survey. This will be an additional cost and you can either arrange it yourself or we’d be happy to do so for you.
Step 2 - Develop
We work through the feasability and concept development and present you with 2d and 3d sketches and mood boards of ideas for designs, materials, plants and styles. This is the most collaborative stage, when we’ll work together to define the concept you love.
Step 3 - Agree
We’ll develop that agreed concept into masterplan drawings, showing the agreed layout, materials, hard surfaces, walls, features, lawn areas, planting and levels.
We usually charge a fixed fee for the Develop and Agree steps, so you don’t have to worry about costs escalating if we go back and forth during the design process.

Stage 3: Consolidate
Step 1 - Construction Plans
Including hard landscape plans which include levels, drainage and services, construction details, lighting and irrigation plans – the specific list will depend on the complexity of the scheme and how much detail is required.
Step 2 - Planting Design
We work with you to develop a planting strategy with visual references of the key plants. Technical drawings then include planting plans showing names, sizes, location and quantities of all plants as well as detailed schedules.
Step 3 - Tender
We will produce bills of quantities and a Scope of Works – written specifications for the hard and soft landscape elements including standards of workmanship. The Bill of Quantities allows us to gather like-for-like quotes for the construction, and analyse the submitted returns in consultation with you.
This stage is crucial to make sure your project can be accurately priced and that what we deliver for you meets your expectations.

Stage 4: Construct
Making it Happen
We care deeply about every project we take on. We use carefully chosen contractors and craftspeople, and stay close to the project through regular updates, visits and signing-off on stages, to ensure that your project meets the brief and is delivered to the highest standards.
We appreciate that outside spaces continually evolve as nature works its magic.
Aftercare
We would love to stay in touch as your garden or landscape grows and changes, so we develop detailed management plans with you or your gardening team and are available to visit at key times as the space establishes and develops.
