HIRING: SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT/DESIGNER

JOE PERKINS DESIGN – COMPANY OVERVIEW
Joe Perkins Design is an award-winning landscape architecture and garden design practice based in East Sussex. We specialise in high-end private residential gardens, public landscapes and horticultural projects, creating distinctive places that respond to their setting, ecology and the people who use them.
Our work ranges from show gardens, exceptional private estates and Paragraph 84 projects to collaborations with organisations such as the National Trust and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Sustainability underpins everything we do, and we believe the best landscapes are those that are beautiful, resilient and rooted in their environment.
This is an opportunity to play a leading role within a small, collaborative studio working on some of the UK's most exciting and varied landscape projects, with genuine scope to
influence the future direction of the practice.
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Landscape Architect or Senior Landscape
Designer with a minimum of five years' professional experience to lead the design and
delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
This is a client-facing role requiring someone who is confident and has experience in
taking ownership of projects, building relationships with clients and consultants, and
mentoring junior members of the team. You will work closely with Joe and the wider
studio on a diverse portfolio of residential and public realm projects.
Unlike larger practices, you'll be closely involved in every stage of a project, from early
concept discussions and client presentations through to technical design, construction
and completion. This is an opportunity to have a genuine influence on both projects
and the future direction of the practice.
We are looking for someone who combines strong creative thinking with excellent
technical knowledge and shares our passion for sustainable, site-led design.
Based at our studio in Hove, East Sussex. Applicants should live within a reasonable
commuting distance or be willing to relocate. The role will also involve regular site visits
and client meetings so a full UK driving licence and car are essential (mileage expenses provided)
This is a hybrid role with core hours Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Tuesdays,
Wednesdays and Thursdays are dedicated studio days, with flexibility to work remotely
on Mondays and Fridays where appropriate. Regular studio presence is expected to
support collaboration, mentoring and project delivery.
