Woodland Edge Garden

This garden, currently under construction, is being developed alongside a substantial remodelling of the existing property in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The design reflects the client’s wish for a landscape that feels both structured and natural, with seasonal highlights throughout the year.
A newly built swimming pool anchors the garden along a central axis, while the surrounding spaces are being reshaped to enhance movement, improve views, and create a more fluid connection between the house and wider landscape.
We've built and planted the areas around the pool, the parterre and in the wider grounds and are fencing them off whilst the house build is going on over the autumn and winter of 2025. Once the house is complete we will finish the areas immediately around the house so that everything is ready for the client to move in spring 2026.
Key features such as the parterre, orchard and woodland walks are retained and reimagined, while new planting responds to the site’s clay soils and complex topography. The result will be a balanced and resilient garden, designed for low intervention but rich in atmosphere and experience.
