Principle
BA (Hons), MA Landscape Architecture, PGDip Garden Design
To date his career has included wide-ranging experience in landscape construction and design, and has involved living in the UK, Southern France, and Spain.
Joe has 25 years of design experience, 10 years as the manager of a respected landscape construction company and 15 years of involvement in planning and delivering gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show and other RHS shows. Most recently he achieved 2 gold medals for his designs at the Chelsea Flower Show and the award for Horticultural Excellence at the Shenzhen Flower Show in 2023.
Joe has written for various garden media publications and is a member of the editorial committee for the Garden Design Journal. He has also been a visiting lecturer for the London College of Garden Design. He is available for talks both in the U.K. and abroad. Joe loves to travel which is a great source of inspiration for his designs. He also speaks Spanish and French which helps when working with clients internationally.
I don’t have a fixed style and I don’t follow fashions. I’m equally comfortable designing a large traditional country garden as a contemporary urban roof terrace or a multi-use public space.
My style is dictated by the setting, the architecture in that setting and the client brief. Variety makes my work interesting and exciting and I love the challenge each new project brings. One thing all my projects have in common is the ambition to deliver to the client a garden that exceeds all their expectations”.

Matt has always worked in Landscape and brings more than 15 years of technical and construction experience to the studio. From an early age he was drawn to the outdoors and has literally trained from the ground up. On leaving school he went straight into constructing gardens as a landscaper. After an apprenticeship in Horticulture Matt then went on to study garden design at Greenwich University graduating with First Class Honours.
Matt is very creative, focussed, and with a meticulous eye for detail he brings a high level of professionalism to the studio. As a designer, he is also curious and eager to research and learn about new methods, materials and planting theories.
