A coastal courtyard garden with exotic-looking, drought tolerant planting which was recently completed in the summer of 2023.

The brief was to create a tiny showstopper with adventurous resilient planting for the coastal location with space to dine, bbq and seating on the upper terrace.
This garden was planned to be forward-thinking in view of the hotter drier summers and warmer wetter winters we are seeing. We used free draining-gravelly soils and large pots, taking advantage of the relatively mild coastal environment.
The access was horrible! All through the house and down the stairs but the client was very forward-thinking and did the garden before the house!
