Meta Garden: Growing the future
Provoking thought about our place within nature and the importance of connection and interdependence, the garden showcases the diversity of habitat and plant communities within woodland ecosystems which is only possible when underpinned by a functioning mycorrhizal network.
The design highlights the importance of timber as a beautiful, sustainable and renewable resource, as well as the importance of increasing tree cover and public access to well-managed woodlands in the UK.
Built without the use of any concrete the garden has a new home at the Conkers Discovery Centre in the heart of the National Forest in Derbyshire.
The garden won an RHS Gold Medal.
